All by the Spirit and not me

Not my righteousness, but His
Don't lose sleep over it, Rest!

In this thought Pastor Prince reminds us that resting in God does not mean being lazy and doing nothing. Instead, he teaches us that resting in Him means that we get to live a life directed by the Holy Spirit.

In the scripture verse for today, we see the Lord said of Zerubbabel that whatever He would do in the building of the temple, it would not be by His might, nor would it be by His strength, but by the Spirit of God. In the book of John, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself said that He would give us the Spirit who would teach us all things and bring to remembrance all things He has said to us. The Spirit was given to us as a helper.

16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [e]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

John 14

And as we rest in Him and not let our hearts be troubled, He will lead us in truth and help us to live life the way God wants us to live. In the following video, Pastor Prince talks about how Paul flowed in the Spirit and knew what was best of everyone but the people ignored him (Acts 10:10-15). If Centurion in the story had listened to Paul, the ship would never been stuck in the storm. Instead, the man listened to the expert and this put them all in danger.

Here is a blog where Pastor Prince talks about God being our strength. When we rest in Him, we allow Him to work in our lives, but when we think we can do it ourselves, God rests:

God is your strength | Joseph Prince

Here is another blog where he talks about the blessed man and the cursed man. In Jeremiah, we are told that blessed is the man whose trust is the Lord, what about the man who trusts in His own efforts?

And lastly here is a blog where Pastor talks about rest being Spirit-directed activity, not laziness.

In the next thought, Pastor Prince teaches that we shouldn’t spend time worrying about things and losing sleep when we have someone who neither sleeps no slumbers to take care of it for us.

Until next time-

Be blessed, and remember that you are loved and highly favor!
