For thought 7, Pastor Princes shares that for supply to flow in our lives, we need to let for of our worry. In the verse above, the Lord Jesus Christ told us not to worry, not about our lives, or what we will wear, or what we will drink. And in John 14, He told us again to not let our hearts be worried, and to not let them be afraid. In that chapter, He tells us not to let our hearts be troubled twice.
27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraidJohn 14
Pastor Prince emphasizes in some of his sermons that no one ‘can not let your heart be troubled’ for you. So we all need to personally let go of whatever worries we may have. In 1 Peter 5, the verse says cast all your cares to Him for He cares for you.
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.1 Peter 5
8 Be [c]sober, be [d]vigilant; [e]because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
In one of his sermons, Pastor Prince talks about this verse and says that the devil cannot manage a peaceful Christian. He highlights how before we are told to be vigilant, and sober, we are instructed to cast all out cares to Him. And in verse 9, we are supposed to resist the devil by being steadfast in faith, if you are worried, where is your faith?
Instead, we need to let go of our worries and have faith that He will come through for us because He cares for us. Pastor Prince also talks about his experience where the Lord tells him to check all the areas of his life where he is worried, the supply doesn’t flow very well in those areas. But in the areas of his life where he is not worried, the supply flows unhindered.
God is always supplying, but your worry can stop you from experiencing that supply. Pastor Prince says that instead of putting your faith in His provision, when we are worried, we are not acknowledging how mighty our God is. Instead, we are acknowledging the problems.
Grace flows in the worry-free areas of your life | Joseph Prince
5 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the [d]brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. 17 You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”2 Chronicles 20
In the verse above, you will notice that the word from the Spirit is to stand still, do not be afraid nor be dismayed for the battle is the Lord’s. So as you let go of your worry to Him, you acknowledge that the battle is His and not yours, you acknowledge that you cannot, but He can.
Believe that you have His peace and guard your heart against all worry and stress. Believe that God’s got you and the battle is His, not yours.
Let go and let God.
