His grace is sufficient for me for His strength is made perfect in my weakness
As a branch connected to the vine, one thing we have working for us is the promise that His grace is sufficient for us, for His strength is made perfect in our weakness. So when I am weak, then I am strong. His strength far surpasses my own, so this means that when I am weak, that’s when I am strongest right? Amazing!!!
2 Corinthians 12:9
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
I have loved this verse for so long because I need it, I need His strength. I have so many weaknesses, I constantly find that I am disappointing myself. The guilt, the shame and the crushing disappointment I have lived with so long are because I just can’t seem to live life right. I watch a motivational video or hear a sermon and I feel pumped for a period of time, only to disappointment myself not long after that.
I once wrote a diary entry called I need a planner, but now I that I have plenty, I just don’t use them. I use it for a few days and then I forget about it or I just procrastinate. Mostly procrastinate though, until I forget about it. Procrastination for me is a big weakness.
Procrastination… Apathy… Anxiety… Self-consciousness… Worry… Attention seeking… Being anti-social… Pride… Resentment… Bitterness… Depression… Forgetfulness… Being broke…
The list could go on but how about we end there. Point is, I need His grace and His strength to survive… a lot of it, so I love that verse.
Probably you are better off than me, and you just have one or two weaknesses? Either way, whether you are like me or you are way better off…or maybe even worse… we all need His grace and His strength in our lives. And as branches connected to the vine, we have His strength guys. I have mentioned before that the branch gets its life from the vine, so if something is weak, the vine provides the strength to make things works.
So I may be a bad planner, but His grace is sufficient for me for His strength is made perfect in my weakness, all I have to do is wait on Him and depend on the vine life that is flowing to me every day.
I struggle with focus, diligence, and productivity, but you know what, His grace is sufficient for me, for His strength is made perfect in my weakness.
I don’t know how to do this, how to write things and create Art that gives glory to Him and blesses His people, but hey, I know His grace is sufficient for me for His strength is made perfect in my weakness. Only He can do that through me.
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,who loved me and gave himself for me.
After all, it’s no longer I that lives but Christ through me, He is the vine and His vine life flows in me, and without Him, I cannot do anything. So embrace your weaknesses before Him guys, let Him be your strength, let Him lead you into His perfection. What the Lord provides for, is always better than what we could have done on our own. So I would not try to perfect my hustle as the world says to do. You are not called to be a hustler, you are called to be a branch. What if you try to perfect something He is trying to get rid off from you life? If you are not connected, you
So the choice is yours, to be who He has called you to be or to be what the world wants you to believe you are. I am not calling you to laziness, or unfruitfulness, you don’t even have to be like me. In the Bible, we have the story of the bags of gold given to the servants. The fact that they were servants means that they were already working, but they were given something by the Master that he wanted them to steward over. The one who did not steward over what he was given had it taken from him. I just think we have to figure out what He has given us and work on that instead of running after money or doing it the world’s way. Let’s not waste our time and regret it later.
The focus of our generation is to hustle to get it done, when you fail, get up and go harder, hustle harder and get it done. But as children of the Most-High God, we are branches connected to the vine, if you are going to ‘hustle’, just make sure you are still producing grapes and not lemons or even apples, because while they taste good, He has a better plan.
2 Corinthians 12:10
10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Stay connected, stay in Christ, be the fruitful branch you are meant to be. Christ is not, and was never lazy, unfruitful or unproductive, trust Him to know what’s best for you and to lead you into the success He came to give you. And I don’t know about you guys but I am holding on to this.
Whether it be physical, mental or financial, His grace is sufficient for you, for His strength is made perfect in your weakness.
